Mr. Hawkins was born and raised in the South East, Anacostia section of Washington, DC’s Ward 8. He graduated from Dunbar Senior High School and attended Howard University on a full tuition swimming scholarship. Earl received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Averett University in Danville, Virginia. After a series of very bad decisions, he had to serve a mandatory-minimum, ten-year federal prison sentence for drug distribution. Through trust in GOD and faith, Earl was able to return home and become a productive member of society.
Currently, Mr. Hawkins is a member, Deacon, and Trustee at St. Paul Christian Community Church in Washington, DC. After returning to society, he worked as a Residential Youth Counselor for at-risk youth. Earl wants the youth to know that they don’t have to make the same mistakes that he made. Mr. Hawkins states “I told myself when I returned home that I wanted to honor GOD in my walk and in what clothes I wore. Thus, Faith Will Work Clothing was born. I share my testimony wherever and whenever I can.”
